Electrical testing you can trust.

An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a thorough inspection of your property's wiring. It's a legal requirement for rental properties and essential peace of mind for homeowners. We issue the report the same day.

What is an EICR?

An EICR is a formal document that records the condition of your electrical installation at a point in time. A NICEIC-registered electrician inspects and tests every circuit, checks earthing and bonding, and flags any defects with a severity code.

  • C1 — danger present, immediate action required
  • C2 — potentially dangerous, urgent remedial work needed
  • C3 — improvement recommended
  • FI — further investigation required

An EICR is satisfactory (no C1 or C2 defects) means your installation meets current standards. An unsatisfactory report means remedial work is needed before the installation can be certified — we can carry this out in the same visit where possible.

When do you need an EICR?

  • Landlords — legally required every 5 years or at change of tenancy
  • When buying a property (especially with older wiring)
  • When your insurer requests evidence of a recent inspection
  • Before a major extension or renovation
  • If you have any concerns about your wiring

How long does it take?

For a typical 3-bedroom property, an EICR takes around 2–3 hours. The written report is issued the same day. We cover Stockport, Didsbury, Chorlton, and Withington.
