What counts as a roofing emergency?

If water is getting into your home, your property is at risk of further damage, or structural elements have been compromised — that's an emergency. Common situations we deal with include:

• Storm damage — slates, tiles or ridge tiles blown off
• A sudden and significant leak during or after heavy rain
• A section of roof felt or membrane that has failed
• A chimney stack that has become unstable or partially collapsed
• Lead flashing that has lifted, causing water ingress
• A fallen tree or debris that has damaged the roof structure
• Water penetrating through a recently repaired or newly installed roof

What we do in an emergency

When you call us, we'll ask a few quick questions to understand the situation. We aim to attend the same day or next morning, depending on when you contact us.

Our priority on arrival is to make the property weathertight and safe. This might mean tarping over an exposed area, replacing missing slates, securing loose lead work, or supporting a damaged element temporarily until a full repair can be scheduled.

We'll always explain exactly what we've done, what we've found, and what the options are for a permanent fix. You won't be left not knowing the state of your roof.

Don't leave a leak

A small leak that goes unattended can cause serious damage within a matter of days. Water can saturate insulation, rot joists, damage ceilings and plaster, and create damp conditions that lead to mould. The cost of waiting almost always outweighs the cost of acting quickly.

After the emergency

Once your roof is weathertight, we'll carry out a full survey and give you a written quote for any permanent repair work needed. If you need to make an insurance claim, we can provide a detailed written report of what happened and what work was carried out.
