GRP (glass reinforced plastic) is now the most popular choice for flat roofing in the UK, and for good reason. It's seamless, incredibly durable, and looks excellent — especially on extensions where a clean, architectural finish is important.
A properly installed GRP roof should last 25 to 30 years with minimal maintenance. There are no joins or seams to fail, it handles foot traffic well, and it won't crack in cold weather.
Quality torch-on felt systems are still a reliable and cost-effective option, particularly for garages and outbuildings where aesthetics are less of a priority. We use 3-layer high-performance felt systems — not the cheap single-ply materials that give felt roofing its bad name.
