Complete domestic and commercial rewiring carried out by NICEIC registered electricians. All work tested, certified and notified to building control under Part P.
Most properties built before the 1970s are running on wiring that is now at the end of its serviceable life. Rubber-insulated cables become brittle and crack with age, and old wiring does not have the earth protection required by current regulations. If a property has not been rewired since the 1980s, it is likely to fail an EICR inspection.
A full rewire involves replacing all of the existing cables, sockets, switches, consumer unit and light fittings throughout the property. We plan the work carefully to minimise the time you are without power and, where possible, route new cables in ways that limit the amount of re-plastering required.
Once the rewire is complete, we carry out a full test and inspection of the installation and issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC). This is the document you need for your building sign-off, your home insurance, and for any future sale of the property.
A full rewire is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. As a NICEIC registered contractor, we handle the notification to the local authority on your behalf — you don't need to do anything separately.
The cost of a rewire depends on the size of the property, the number of circuits required, and how accessible the existing wiring is. A 2-bedroom house will cost considerably less than a 5-bedroom detached.
We always carry out a survey before quoting. That way we can give you an accurate price rather than a rough estimate that changes once the job starts. Our quotes are fixed — what we quote is what you pay.
