An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal document produced after a thorough inspection of a property's electrical installation. It identifies any damage, deterioration or defects that could pose a safety risk.
Landlords in England are legally required to have an EICR carried out at least every five years, and a copy must be provided to tenants. Many mortgage lenders and insurers also require a valid report before proceeding.
